A leading plastics and primary metal manufacturer with a plant location in Hartford, Wisconsin, wanted to find a way to increase their productivity while reducing the costs of moving their materials in their factory. They determined Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) would be the best way to accomplish this.
Transbotics standard fork-style vehicle was designed to carry loads up to 4,000 lbs. that were 56” wide and 44” long. The customers’ material handling specs identified loads that would vary in size from 36” to 48” in width and would be 48” in length, weighing about 3,000 lbs.
Transbotics’ in-house design team worked with the customer to modify our existing design and create a custom material handling system that met with their application requirements. In addition, the vehicle utilized non-contact laser safety bumpers to increase the safety of this operation.
